USC announces 2013 Presidential Fellows

The Graduate School is delighted to announce the University of South Carolina's 2013 Presidential Fellows.

“The Presidential Fellowship is a great recruiting tool that enables us to bring in top-talent from across the country and around the world,” says Dr. Jessica Elfenbein, Senior Associate Dean of The Graduate School.

The 2013 Fellows come to the University of South Carolina with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from 32 different institutions, ranging from Singapore to Cambridge.  They will pursue doctoral degrees in 16 academic disciplines. Three incoming Fellows hold degrees from USC.

About the Presidential Fellowship

The Presidential Fellowship is USC’s most prestigious university-wide award for promise of excellence at the graduate level. Unique among peer institutions for its reach across disciplines and focus on professional development, the Presidential Fellowship awards supplemental stipends totaling up to $32,000 for doctoral students and $20,000 for MFA students. This stipend is in addition to fellowships and assistantships students receive from their academic programs.

This spring, The Graduate School was awarded the 2012-2013 CSGS/ETS Award for Excellence and Innovation in Graduate Admissions at the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools for the Presidential Fellowship program.
