Travel grants awarded to 315 graduate students

The Graduate School is proud to have supported 315 graduate students for travel during the period from July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014. Traveling to conferences as first or sole authors, students will present their research across four continents and throughout every region in the country, including Hawaii and the territory of Puerto Rico.

The travel grant cycle for Spring 2014 travel is closed. Going forward, we will use three travel grant cycles. We hope this will better accommodate the needs of our graduate students and fellow faculty. Grants will continue to be awarded on a rolling basis, but the maximum amount for international travel will now be $800. Awards for domestic travel will remain up to $500.

The Graduate School will begin accepting travel grant proposals on June 1, 2014. Thereafter, award cycles will be:

  • June 1 –Applications open for travel from July 1- October 31
  • Sept 15 – Applications open for travel from Nov. 1 – February 28
  • January 15 –Applications open for travel from March 1 – June 30
