Congratulations to Brandi Lariscy Avant, winner of our 2nd Annual Graduate Student Day Logo Competition! We were impressed with the quality, creativity, and variety of the submissions we received this year. Thank you to a

About Graduate Student Day:

Graduate Student Day is the University of South Carolina's largest competition, award ceremony, and showcase of graduate student work. Now in its 17th year, Graduate Student Day 2014 will be held in the Russell House on Friday, April 11. We received 176 proposals from 60 different programs this year! Students who submitted proposals may be selected to compete in the categories of oral research presentation, poster research presentation, creative presentation, and the 3-minute thesis/dissertation speech. 
The Graduate School will post a detailed schedule once participants are selected and notified. 

The public is invited to all Graduate Student Day events.  

About the designer:

Brandi Lariscy Avant is a book designer at The University of South Carolina Press. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Winthrop University. Lariscy Avant's most visible project on campus is probably Patricia Moore-Pastides’s cookbook, Greek Revival from the Garden, which she designed with a team at the University of South Carolina Press.
