Doctoral Progress to Degree
Admission and enrollment in Doctoral Degree program
       
Appointment of Program Advisory Committee.

Dissertation, Comprehensive Examination, and Dissertation Examination Committees may be appointed at the same time
       
Completion of Admission to Candidacy procedures: Qualifying Exam and approval of Program of Study (POS) by Program Advisory Committee, graduate director, and Graduate School Dean.
If needed, a program adjustment form is filed to approve changes to the original POS.
       
Completion of courses on POS and Doctoral Residency Requirement.
       

Dissertation Research

Completion of Comprehensive examination not less than 60 days before graduation.

Completion of other degree requirements. (Language Examination, etc.)
       
Within 15 days after the start of the final term of study, submit application for graduation to the Graduate School.


Submit draft of dissertation to advisor and committee members.


Schedule dissertation defense; submit Dissertation Defense Announcement.
       
Not later than five weeks before graduation, submit dissertation draft via the ETD process to the Graduate School for preliminary format check
Complete dissertation defense not less than 30 days before graduation.  Final revisions required by Committee and the Graduate School are made by student.
Signed Dissertation Signature and Approval form and Survey of Earned Doctorate submitted to the Graduate School in hard copy
       
Not later than 20 days before graduation, the final approved  dissertation is submitted via the ETD process.
