Doctoral Hooding Ceremony, December 2018

A total of 272 doctoral graduates were eligible to participate in the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony of the University of South Carolina on December 17, 2018 at the Koger Center for the Arts. Doctoral students who met the degree program deadlines for August 2018 (124) and December 2018 (148) were eligible to participate in the December ceremony. Doctoral graduates represented 53 degree programs. Doctoral graduates included 74 from the Doctor of Education (EdD) program in curriculum and instruction in the College of Education, 18 from the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program in the Arnold School of Public Health, 16 from the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences, and 16 from either the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in nursing practice in the College of Nursing. Dr. Cynthia Davis, Professor of English and Associate Dean for Arts, Humanities, and Communications in the College of Arts and Sciences, gave remarks as the commencement speaker in addition to President Harris Pastides, Provost Joan T. A. Gabel, and Dr. Cheryl Addy, Vice Provost and Dean of the Graduate School.

The Graduate School is pleased to provide graduates and their family members and friends access to free, professional photographs taken by Tom Johnson and Errol Tisdale before, during, and after the ceremony.
