Call for Nominations for Graduate Student Day

Graduate Student Day Research Symposium and Awards Ceremony is an annual celebration of graduate students’ scholarly and creative work. This year’s Graduate Student Day will be held in the Russell House on Friday, April 12, 2013.

Students who are nominated by their department will make oral research presentations, display posters, undertake creative performances and—new this year—compete in the 3 minute thesis/dissertation speech contest. Winners of the morning competitions will be announced during the Graduate Student Day Awards Ceremony. In addition, recipients of the following awards will be announced:

Submission/Selection Process 

Students can submit a Graduate Student Day proposal by uploading an abstract and proposal form through the Graduate Management System - GMS. The abstract should be no more than 300 words and provide, as appropriate, either a brief outline of the research or description of the presentation/display. Please read over the competition categories before writing your abstract, as some of the guidelines may have changed or been updated this year. 

Space is limited. Graduate Directors will access and rank submissions through the Graduate Management System - GMS. Not all proposals are guaranteed acceptance. The deadline for Graduate Directors to rank proposals is March 1.
