Ivory M. Harding

Congratulations to Ivory M. Harding, USC’s most recent recipient of a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship! Harding is pursuing a master’s in biomedical science and is involved in Graduate Student Association.

This year three Carolina graduate students were recognized by NSF. Douglas Bell, a Ph.D. student in marine science, received an Honorable Mention. Chase W. Nelson, a Presidential Fellow and Ph.D. student in biology, is the recipient of a NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and a NSF East Asia and Pacific Summer Institute award.

Graduate students who are interested in applying for NSF or other national fellowships are encouraged to visit the Office of Fellowships and Scholar Programs (OFSP). OFSP specializes in giving students advice on all aspects of the application and interview processes for national competitions. Some of the services they offer include: coordinating faculty nominations for eligible students, hosting national fellowship workshops featuring previous winners and faculty experts, and offering one-on-one advisement and providing feedback on personal statements.

The OFSP office is open during the summer. Reach them at 803-777-0958.
