Career Resources

The following resources are specifically designed to help students and recent alumni connect with colleagues and employers. For a more expansive list of career-related workshops and campus resources, visit the Professional Development menu.

Career Center

The USC Career Center can connect you with employers, help you prepare for an interview and give you professional, one-on-one career counseling.

  • The Career Center offers a range of services that can help you at every stage of your career search. Check out an overview of their services.
  • The Career Center invites you to activate your Handshake account to search for jobs and employers; find online resources for professional development; and schedule an appointment with your Career Development Coach.

The Career Center is located on the 5th floor of Thomas Cooper Library. Contact: 803-777-7280. There is also a satellite office in the College of Engineering and Computing (Swearingen Hall).

Preparing Future Faculty

The Preparing Future Faculty program at USC is administered through a partnership between the Center for Teaching Excellence and the Graduate School. Designed for graduate students and post-docs who want to teach at the college level, PFF assists with key aspects of professional development, documenting an investment in teaching, research and service in preparation for faculty life.

EMPLOYERS

On campus offices who wish to recruit graduate assistants (for NON-work study funded positions) may create an account in the Career Center’s online database, Handshake, and post these positions for students to view online. Find out more.
